A lot of thought goes into our breeding program long before a litter is ever born. We also attend cat shows and show our Ragdolls, which has given us even more opportunity to learn about the breed, evaluate structure and temperament, and continue improving our breeding program. You’re also welcome to drive or fly in and pick up your kitten personally. If you drive, you can make a fun little trip out of it—explore our beautiful city, take a tour, enjoy some great food, or grab a few beignets before heading home with your new kitten. If you prefer to fly, you can fly into Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, and we can arrange to meet you there with your kitten before your flight home.

It’s not unusual to have a Ragdoll follow you from room to room, sit nearby while you’re working, or magically appear the second you sit down. Some are little shadows who want to know what you’re doing at all times, while others are perfectly happy just keeping an eye on you from their favorite spot across the room.
That doesn’t mean every Ragdoll has the exact same personality. We’ve raised some who want to be right in the middle of everything and others who are a little more independent. In general, though, Ragdolls tend to be very people-oriented cats and enjoy being included in everyday family life. Their combination of curiosity, affection, and laid-back personalities is a big part of what makes the Ragdoll personality so easy to fall in love with.
If you want a cat who actually seems happy that you’re home—and may even escort you to the bathroom whether you invited them or not—a Ragdoll might be a pretty good fit.
Why Do Ragdoll Kittens Change Color as They Grow?
One of the fun things about raising Ragdoll kittens is watching their color develop. Ragdolls are pointed cats, and their coloring is temperature-sensitive. They’re born almost completely white because they stay nice and warm inside their mom. After birth, the cooler areas of their bodies—especially the ears, face, legs, and tail—gradually begin developing color. You can usually start seeing little hints pretty early, but their coloring continues to deepen and change as they grow.
This is also why it can be hard to look at a tiny kitten and imagine exactly what they’ll look like as an adult! A blue kitten will develop softer, cool gray coloring, while a seal will become a much deeper brown. Their patterns become more noticeable too, and their overall coloring can continue maturing for quite a while. Watching that transformation is one of my favorite parts of raising them.
